Gardener's Herbal Salve

✦ Comfrey has the common name "knitbone" for its ability to repair fractures and sprains. It is a useful herb for supporting the healing process, but only use after a bone has been set. The high allantoin content supports healthy tissue repair and aids healing for an array of skin injuries. Comfrey is a rapid skin accelerator and can quickly heal the top layer of skin together, leaving a pocket underneath where bacteria can fester. Do not use on deep wounds or lacerations. Use on minor cuts and grazes.

✦ Ribwort Plantain is often used in herb poultices to repair wounds, insect bites and stings.

✦ Lavender is a strong anti-infective and can cool inflammation and irritation.

Scoop out a small amount and gently rub onto affected area. Repeat when necessary until healed. For sprains and light fractures, smooth a thick layer onto the skin, and wrap with a muslin cloth. Hold it in position to allow the salve to fully sink in and do the work.

Store below 25c. Lazuli salves and balms are oil-based, and can last beyond 24 months if stored correctly. Use within 12 months of opening for optimal potency and freshness.
